Afghani Police Shame Cross-dresser – Video goes “viral”
I’m not exactly comfortable with the adjective “viral” outside a biological context, but that’s another post for another time.
But until that time, here’s a graphic reminder of what your college courses on gender and/or what your lived experience has probably taught you: all-male coteries + unchecked power = trouble for the other.
Here, a squad of Afghan police revel in their shaming of an Afghani cross-dresser forced to disrobe in front of their camera.
Yet, as this type of masculinist expression always does, this video inadvertently reveals the weakness behind hyper-masculinity’s facade.
It’s kind of like the bully in the school yard who acts tough but only picks fights when he’s backed by his peers and only attacks those obviously physically weaker than himself.
To which, one sometimes hears the always unanswered retort – a retort perhaps useful vis-a-vis these police – why don’t you pick one someone your own size?
Of course, you however know the answer.

Afghan police laugh while forcing cross-dresser to strip
Video of Afghan police laughing while forcing a cross-dressing man to strip has gone viral, being viewed over 44,000 times in just one day.
Filmed near Kabul earlier this month and uploaded to LiveLeak.com Saturday, the eight-minute video shows Afghan National Police humiliating the man nearly to the point of tears as they demanded he remove layer after layer.
The man was seen removing his wig and robe, revealing a red dress that would typically be worn by an Afghan woman.
