Perhaps as a queer or queer-affirmative person, you’ve been feeling like me – ignored at the start of the 2012 election cycle. Sure, Michelle Bachman’s “hey gurl” husband provided a moment of pathetic tragi-comedy befitting a Samuel Beckett play.

You see, desperate times call for desperate measures, and with poll numbers that scream of little else, Rick Perry reached for the Republican trump card – the cultural wars. (You might have sensed he was an asshole before. Now, you know he is.)

Enjoy his latest ad which compares LGBT military service with school prayer (huh?) and suggests that the nation’s dominant religion, the one that 99.9999999% of American elected officials subscribe to is in some way in danger.
